Dental doctor vs. Physician

A dream to become a doctor is a confusing one unless it is further explained whether to become a physician or dental doctor. The training of both careers have similarities, but their paths are entirely different from one another. Dental doctors are ones who specialize in the field of oral health whereas the physician’s concern is the body and mind of humans and animals.  The study in both fields is consisting of 4 years of bachelor’s degree. The curriculum is similar in both. In the first two years the dental and medical students study the same laws, but then dentist student’s study changes in the last two year. They study in their respective courses.

After graduation, the dental doctor is awarded a degree of either D.D.S or D.M.D; both are similar. On the other hand, physicians receive their degree and their studies continue. Dental doctors can initiate their careers after graduation whereas the physicians have to do specialization in some specific department.

The admissions of both dental and medical school are competitive. The costs of both schools depend upon the choice whether it is private or public. A question arises that between being a physician versus being a dentist, which the right path of career? It entirely depends upon the choices. The physicians have a long way to practice their work whereas dental doctors can practice right after receiving the degree.

The lifestyle of dental doctors and physicians are completely different from one another. The working hours of dental doctors are lesser due to their specific department of work whereas the working hours of physicians are much more due to their various departments of work. Choosing one field over the other depends on the area of interests whether the physician’s life fits one or the lifestyle of a dentist.
